Bio

Sandy's ideal clients are individuals — adults, adolescents, and children — struggling with big emotions, behavior challenges, relational issues, and cross-cultural stress. They're seeking a therapist who understands both culture and communication, someone who provides structure, compassion, and a safe space to grow. Using behavior intervention, Client-Centered Play Therapy, and unconditional positive regard, she helps clients improve regulation, reduce distress, and build confidence.

As a bilingual Mandarin–English therapist, Sandy supports children, adolescents, and adults who need a safe, culturally aware space to navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. Her work is rooted in client-centered advocacy, ensuring that every individual feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing process.

"Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you're carrying emotions or experiences that feel too heavy to hold on your own. If you're struggling with anxiety, frustration, burnout, identity stress, trauma, or the pressure of navigating multiple cultures, you deserve a space where your story is understood with care."

Sandy specializes in working with Asian women, addressing the unique cultural, familial, and societal pressures they face — such as bicultural identity, generational trauma, and collectivist expectations — by providing culturally responsive care. She works with clients ages 4 and up, bringing her training in Client-Centered Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), school-related behavior intervention support, CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy to create individualized treatment plans that honor each person's story and strengths.

In her practice, Sandy often uses Client-Centered Play Therapy. In the first session, she explores what brings a client or their child to therapy and collaborates on the most supportive path forward. Through CCPT, she gently examines how experiences shape emotions and behaviors, guiding clients in recognizing underlying thoughts and feelings to build lasting insight. Together, they work toward resilience, connection, and lasting well-being.
