Sydney Hafer is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) at NDH Therapy in Agoura Hills, working with adolescents and adults from a relational, trauma-informed, whole-person perspective. She specializes in eating disorders, complex trauma and C-PTSD, and identity exploration, with a particular passion for supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. She sees clients in person in Agoura Hills and virtually throughout California.
Her approach integrates evidence-based practices — Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and parts work — to help clients build self-compassion, strengthen resilience, and create lasting change. She is also certified in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, which she draws on for trauma processing and exploration.
Sydney views clients' struggles as adaptations — intelligent responses to overwhelming experiences — and believes healing happens in relationship: with others, with the body, and with oneself.
As a queer therapist, Sydney offers affirming, celebratory care and works often with transgender youth and LGBTQIA+ couples. Her clinical experience spans outpatient, PHP, IOP, and residential levels of care — including work as a primary therapist at Monte Nido & Affiliates — equipping her to support complex presentations in close collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment teams. She values strong referral relationships and believes coordinated, compassionate care leads to the best outcomes for clients.
Sydney holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #153007) practicing under the supervision of Alison Ross, LMFT.
