Ryan Snodgrass is a dual-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in San Diego and Carlsbad, California. With more than a decade of clinical experience — including leadership of large clinical organizations and work in international settings — he brings exceptional depth of training and real-world perspective to his work with individuals, couples, teens, and families.
His practice centers on trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, addiction, grief, burnout, and major life transitions. What sets Ryan apart is his integration of somatic and experiential methods alongside evidence-based frameworks. Drawing on EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodrama, and Expressive Arts Therapy, he helps clients move beyond intellectual insight into embodied, lasting change — processing what the body has held, not just what the mind has understood.
"I help clients move beyond insight alone — into the body, into felt experience, into the kind of change that actually sticks."
Ryan's work is rooted in the belief that the relationship in the room matters. He describes his style as warm, attuned, and collaborative — and gently direct when that's what the work calls for. He tailors each engagement to the individual's unique nervous system, history, and goals, drawing on a broad clinical toolkit to meet each person where they are.
In addition to ongoing individual, couples, and family sessions, Ryan offers intensive and extended sessions — a format well-suited for clients who want to accelerate progress, work through a specific issue more deeply, or who prefer immersive therapeutic work over traditional weekly meetings.
Ryan sees clients in person at Wholeness Collective in Carlsbad, California, and is available via telehealth throughout the state. He is currently accepting a limited number of new clients.
