Reetu DeLeon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has practiced since 2004, working by telehealth with adults, couples, and families across Arizona. Her focus is relationship distress — the tension, distance, and same-argument-again fatigue that can persist even when everything else in a life looks like it is working.
She specializes in couples and family therapy, drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy and relational family systems approaches and working with what she describes as an intergenerational lens. Rather than treating a single fight as the whole problem, she helps partners and families identify the cycle underneath it — where it was learned and what it is trying to protect — and build safer, more direct responses in its place. Attachment, family-of-origin experience, cultural expectation, and identity all sit inside that work, with particular attention to clients balancing demanding careers, family expectations, and cultural influences, and to interracial and multicultural couples.
You may be doing everything ‘right’ in your life, yet your relationship feels tense, distant, or harder than it should.
Reetu earned her Master of Social Work at New York University in 2004 and went on to a four-year postgraduate program in couples and family therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, along with advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. She practiced in Manhattan before relocating to Phoenix in 2016, and has served as diversity and inclusion chair for the Arizona EFT board, where she helped launch a diversity scholarship in 2021.
Her style is exploratory and reflective, and she describes her work with a diverse clientele as grounded in cultural competence and curiosity. She sees clients in English and Punjabi. She is licensed in both Arizona and New York, works virtually, and is accepting new clients with a free 15-minute consultation.
