Rashel Perry is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years in mental health and addictions, practicing at Changing Lives Therapy, LLC in Phoenix. She sees clients in person at the practice's Missouri Avenue office and by telehealth, and she is licensed in both Arizona and California, so the virtual work reaches clients in either state. Her focus is trauma and addiction, and she works with teens through older adults.
She describes herself as a short-term, solution-focused therapist, and that is the shape of the work rather than a scheduling preference. She is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, a structured and time-limited approach for people who have experienced or witnessed trauma, and in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which she uses for depression, suicidal ideation, and distress tolerance. Her own description of her style is direct and challenging, and the clients she names as her focus are teens and adults who are motivated to do focused, goal-oriented work.
My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Alongside trauma and addiction she works with anxiety, depression, and life transitions, and brings mindfulness into the room. She does not take on long-term couples work, but she does offer sessions on addiction and trauma education for a client's loved ones — often where a family's understanding of what is actually happening begins. She describes the room as a neutral, safe space, and herself as an LGBTQ+ and racially unbiased provider.
Rashel holds a Master of Social Work and is licensed as a clinical social worker in Arizona, #LCSW-19611, and in California, #79713.
