Patrick Cleveland is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with more than 20 years in the mental health field. Much of his practice is with college students and working professionals — people managing anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, relationship concerns, or uncertainty about their direction. He is the Founder and Director of Claremont Psychotherapy, where he sees clients in person, and also the Founder and Executive Director of Daybreak Counseling Center, a group practice serving Southern California.
His clinical focus also includes the lasting effects of childhood trauma and emotional neglect. He helps clients understand how past experiences and deeper emotional patterns may be influencing their present lives, working toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, and meaningful personal growth.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own.
Patrick’s style is exploratory and reflective rather than manualized, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) work. Sessions are meant to be a confidential, supportive space to gain clarity, develop coping skills, and make meaningful, lasting changes.
He holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Liverpool.
