Mayra Penaloza is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the therapist behind Mylah Mindful Therapy, serving clients across California via telehealth. She works with teens, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and major life transitions.
Her ideal client is someone who may feel stuck, emotionally overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward — but is open to support. Mayra meets that uncertainty with warmth, offering a space where clients feel heard, understood, and emotionally safe.
Change often begins the moment you feel truly heard — that's the space I work to create.
Mayra draws on evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Insight-Oriented Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy, and is trained in Brainspotting for processing distress that can be hard to reach through talk alone. Her care is culturally responsive and affirming for BIPOC, Latinx, and multicultural clients.
She earned her Master of Social Work from California Baptist University and brings roughly a decade of clinical experience to her work.
