Lauren Webb is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor practicing at Holistic Wellness with Lauren in Santa Cruz, where she sees children, teens, and adults in person on Mission Street and by telehealth across California. She came to counseling from the classroom: six years as an early childhood educator in play-based centers throughout the Bay Area, where she watched how quickly deep emotions surface in young children and how much early intervention matters. That led her into community mental health, working with foster youth, probation youth, and transition-age youth and their families through nonprofit and community care programs, and then into youth and family therapy while she completed licensure in both Hawaii and California.
Her work is person-centered, with the relationship itself doing much of the work. She describes clients not as problems to be fixed but as made up of multiple parts that make them who they are, and she uses Internal Family Systems parts language to explore that inner landscape. Around that core she weaves narrative therapy, EMDR, somatic practices, attachment work, play therapy, and mindfulness-based CBT and DBT. Holistic practice is the foundation of all of it: her view is that a person cannot be split into separate problems, that mind, body, and spirit are connected across every area of life, and that treating only one part of someone tends to leave them feeling fragmented.
You're not a problem that needs to be fixed but rather you're made up of multiple parts that make you a unique individual.
With trauma, Lauren is explicit that the work goes beyond just talking about it. She supports clients in understanding how trauma actually shows up for them, using parts work, EMDR, and somatic therapy to rebuild a sense of safety and connection in both mind and body. Her somatic work reads the body map for holding patterns, tension, and numbness, and draws on somatic experiencing, guided meditation, breathwork, and body movement to release what is stored there. She holds a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy through The Embody Lab and a trauma-focused yoga teacher certification, and she has specific training in EMDR. Alongside talk therapy she offers guided somatic sessions, trauma-focused somatic yoga sessions, and small-group somatic sessions on the beach.
With children, she leans on the preschool teacher she used to be. Play, game play, role play, and art give kids a way into themes they cannot yet put into words, and she works to make play therapy feel fun rather than scary while building the emotional vocabulary underneath. She also works with anxiety — tracing triggers and root causes rather than only managing symptoms — along with depression, life transitions, neurodivergence, relationship and attachment patterns, and women's health, and she has experience supporting neurodiverse clients through skill development, the diagnostic process, and deeper self-understanding.
Lauren holds an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education. She is licensed in California as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, #20338, and in Hawaii as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, #1124, and she also practices at the Center for Healing and Transformation in Kailua, Hawaii. California sessions are private pay: individual and child or teen sessions are $170 for 50 minutes, child-and-caregiver sessions are $185, and guided somatic and trauma-focused yoga sessions are $200 for an hour. A superbill can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement, a sliding scale is available, and a free 15-minute consultation is offered. Her Hawaii practice is separate and is in network with HMSA, HMSA Quest, and TriCare; those panels do not apply to California clients.
