Kelli Redfield is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North County San Diego, seeing young adults, adults, and older adults in person in Escondido and Del Mar. Her practice is built around one thing: somatic EMDR for complex PTSD — trauma work that treats the body as a source of information rather than an afterthought.
The people she sits with have usually already done the understanding part. They can name where the anxiety comes from, trace the pattern back, explain the whole thing clearly — and still find themselves bracing, shutting down, or reacting in ways they cannot talk themselves out of. Her framing is that trauma is not only something you think about; it is something your body remembers, and the alarm keeps firing long after the event has passed.
I offer an intentionally small caseload for the maximum attention you deserve.
She works in extended somatic EMDR intensives — sessions of two to four hours, with a two-hour minimum — for people who want focused, accelerated progress rather than a weekly hour stretched across many months. Multi-day formats are available as well. She also sees clients in standard weekly sessions, and offers a free consultation call first.
Alongside complex PTSD she works with PTSD, burnout, nervous system regulation, OCD, phobia, and perimenopause, and she brings ERP into EMDR work for the compulsive and avoidance patterns that come with OCD and phobias. Her own description of the aim is body- and sensation-focused work that locates the distress and lowers it rather than talking around it. She sees couples as well, using Relational Life Therapy alongside somatic EMDR once the initial assessment and goals are set. EMDR itself she conducts only in person, because the work uses co-regulating touch.
Her style is exploratory and reflective — real, collaborative, and grounded in empathy, sometimes gentle and sometimes direct, always curious. Clients have described her as attuned and warm. She runs an inclusive practice and is an ally to all identities.
Kelli earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2023, and completed a Certificate in Somatic Integration through Life Architect the same year and EMDR Basic Training through EMDR Consulting in 2025. She has more than 3,000 hours of trauma therapy training, including work with complex PTSD and co-occurring disorders at a California treatment center, where she worked with PTSD, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, bipolar disorders, and ADHD. Her continuing education includes ERP within EMDR, perimenopause and menopause transitions, co-regulating somatic touch, and somatic integration. She is a member of EMDRIA and is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California.
