Bio

Justin Dove is a school psychologist and licensed educational psychologist (#4333) in California with over 15 years of experience supporting students from kindergarten through twelfth grade and their families across the United States, including Ohio, Georgia, and California. His work centers on children who are neurodivergent — including gifted and twice-exceptional — and those from Black/African-American communities.

For the last five years, Justin has focused specifically on gifted and twice-exceptional children, presenting his expertise at local, national, and international conferences. His practice offers comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations — including Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) and gifted testing — as well as educational advocacy, counseling, and coaching for children and the supportive adults around them.

Justin's counseling draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) alongside neurodiversity-affirming, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches. CBT helps children understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions while building practical tools they can use at school and in daily life. His work is deeply collaborative, tailored to each family's background and needs, and aimed at helping families understand their child's unique strengths, navigate school systems, and build practical strategies for success.

Justin currently provides pro bono gifted-and-talented screenings to at least one family each quarter — a commitment to expanding access to identification and support for all children.

Families interested in a preliminary exploration of giftedness can submit their information through the PEACE Ed secure upload portal.
