Brandon Prendiville is a Licensed Associate Counselor in Arizona specializing in addiction and recovery, complex PTSD, grief and loss, and the relational challenges that outlast them. He describes his work as helping people process difficult experiences at the root — for clients who understand what is happening logically but still feel stuck emotionally.
He blends EMDR reprocessing with mindfulness and psychodynamic insight, and offers EMDR intensives alongside weekly sessions for clients who want to move through a specific block without waiting out a weekly schedule. Clients describe him as calm, grounded, and steady during difficult conversations, and value that he is both direct and compassionate.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. We move at your pace with no pressure. Just space to breathe, feel, and heal.
Part of what brought him into this work is his own experience with grief and loss — he describes knowing how disorienting it is to move through the world carrying something invisible but heavy, and says that understanding helps him meet people where they are.
In his own words, on working with a male trauma therapist: “As a man in a field where most therapists are women, I want to name something important: if you’re a woman considering working with a male trauma therapist and feel unsure, I understand that. I’ve worked with many women who’ve experienced harm from men, and part of our work can include processing that in a safe space with a safe male presence.”
“Sometimes it can also be helpful to have a man help decode what men are really trying to say or feel, to make sense of past or present relationships. And for men looking for someone to understand them, I may have relevant experience for that as well. I work with women, men, and non-binary individuals and have seen meaningful transformation in clients from all walks of life. Therapy with me is about curiosity, not judgment. Working with you to uncover what’s holding you back so you can move forward.”
Outside the office he finds peace in nature and creativity — hiking with his dog, travel photography, reading and writing — and says healing does not only happen in session but unfolds in the ways we learn to reconnect with life.
