Ariana De Andrado-Byars is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing at Ariana D Therapy, working by telehealth with young adults, adults, and older adults throughout Arizona. Most of her clients are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s — people moving through a big life transition and processing traumatic experiences at the same time, often while trying to work out who they are on the other side of both.
Her primary focus is trauma and PTSD, perinatal mental health, and the intergenerational patterns that run through a family long before anyone names them. She also works with anxiety, grief, and relational challenges. She is EMDR trained and a Certified Trauma Specialist, with additional training in polyvagal theory, attachment theory, perinatal mental health, and hypnotherapy, and she practises from a Health at Every Size–aligned stance.
If you are drawn to anything somatic based or dabble in anything holistic/mindfulness based then you are in the right place.
She describes her lens as trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and holistic, built around the connection between mind and body — a thread that runs through her clinical training and her 200-hour yoga teacher and yin yoga training alike. In practice that means interweaving parts work, somatic practice, and EMDR, and paying attention to what a client’s nervous system is doing in the room rather than treating the story and the body as two separate problems. Her style is exploratory and reflective: she looks for the root of a pattern rather than only its current symptom, and sends clients home with tools to use between sessions.
Ariana is bi-racial and bi-cultural — her father is a Sri Lankan immigrant and her mother is a white American — and she writes that growing up in Arizona she “did not fit in fully in either culture,” an experience that shaped her interest in working with people from minority communities and with cross-cultural relationships. She earned her master’s in counseling from Adams State University in 2020 and is licensed as a professional counselor in both Arizona and Texas. She sees clients in English, offers a free 15-minute consultation, and is accepting new clients.
