Bio

Amy Bednarski is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified EMDR Therapist with 20+ years of clinical experience specializing in depth-oriented trauma recovery. Her approach goes beyond coping strategies to heal the root cause — working with the brain and nervous system to relieve symptoms of PTSD, CPTSD, dissociation, and anxiety that haven't responded to talk therapy alone.

Amy is trained in EMDR (with advanced training in dissociation and complex trauma under an attachment lens), IFS, and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR Level 2, Level 3 in training). She brings a particular expertise to supporting parents of autistic and neurodivergent children — informed by her own experience as a parent of an autistic child with ADHD and anxiety.

“We are not what happened to us. What happened to us shapes how we see ourselves — but underneath lies our true self, waiting to be discovered.”

Amy identifies as Asian American and welcomes clients seeking a BIPOC therapist. Her own healing journey through depression, anxiety, and personal trauma informs the depth of empathy and clinical precision she brings to each session. She practices in Glendale and offers telehealth for clients throughout Arizona.

Therapeutic Approach

  • Depth-oriented trauma work that goes past coping strategies toward the root cause
  • Working with the brain and nervous system on PTSD, CPTSD, dissociation, and anxiety that talk therapy alone has not shifted
  • EMDR with advanced training in dissociation and complex trauma, held under an attachment lens
  • IFS and Deep Brain Reorienting alongside EMDR, for the parts of the work that need something other than processing
  • Particular support for parents of autistic and neurodivergent children, informed by her own experience as one
