Amber Legault is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the clinician and owner of Prism Aegis Therapy Group, seeing California clients by telehealth statewide. She has been practicing for about 13 years, working with teens, transitional-age youth, and adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, and questions of identity.
Much of Amber's work is with LGBTQIA+ clients — including transgender, non-binary, questioning, and gender non-conforming folks — exploring gender and sexual identity and moving through the life transitions that come with it. She is a trans-affirming therapist, and her work with anxiety spans social anxiety, school anxiety, and the quieter overwhelm that builds up underneath.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and affirming — a space where people feel safe, understood, and empowered to continue their own story.
Amber's style is exploratory and reflective, and she blends evidence-based therapy with what clients already care about. She is known for bringing video games and pop culture into the room when it is meaningful; they turn out to be a natural way into communication, problem solving, and building confidence. Her broader approach is solution-focused and strength-based, working from a trauma-informed lens with training in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) and the Community Resiliency Model (CRM).
She holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California Baptist University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Chapman University.
