Almaz Nigusse-Bland is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California who sees clients through her telehealth practice, ANB Counseling Services. With more than 15 years across healthcare and outpatient mental health settings, she brings steady, experienced support to adults navigating anxiety, burnout, caregiving stress, life transitions, and sleep challenges. She works with California clients virtually, statewide.
Almaz's work is rooted in trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practice. She holds space for the whole person, with particular attention to the toll that caregiving, chronic stress, and disrupted sleep can take over time.
Almaz believes healing happens through honesty, support, and community — when clients feel safe enough to speak openly and be met with care.
She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to help clients rebuild restful sleep, and on Gottman Method principles to support stronger, more connected relationships. Her style is exploratory and reflective, giving clients room to understand themselves and move toward the changes they want.
Almaz earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice and her bachelor's degree in psychology from Sonoma State University. In addition to English, she speaks Tigrinya fluently and understands Amharic.
