Shantel Hinnen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist (PMH-C) with focused expertise in the most complex and emotionally demanding chapters of the perinatal experience — including medically complex pregnancies, fetal diagnoses, and infant and pregnancy loss. She is an Advanced Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider and EMDR-trained clinician, bringing a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens to every client she works with.
Shantel’s practice is grounded in compassion and empathy, creating a space where clients feel safe enough to engage in genuine, collaborative exploration and change. She has experience working with clients across the lifespan and treats anxiety, depression, traumatic grief, and the full range of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
“I believe that you are the expert of your own experience and my role is to help you navigate the therapeutic journey — offering tools and feedback along the way.”
In sessions with Shantel, clients can expect genuine connection and strong rapport as the foundation of the work. She believes therapy should feel authentic and human — not just a place to talk about emotions, but to experience them. Her hope is that clients walk away with a deepened capacity to attune to and be mindful of their own experience, both personally and relationally.
Shantel was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Communication and Theology at Grand Canyon University and her Master of Social Work at Arizona State University. Outside of the office she is a self-described coffee nerd, enjoys paddleboarding, and loves to travel.
