Lauren Garcia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in substance use treatment and wraparound services, with a particular focus on mobile therapy for adolescents and families navigating behavioral and high-acuity mental health challenges. She works with both teens and adults, meeting clients where they are — literally.
Based in San Mateo, Lauren offers in-person and virtual sessions as well as mobile therapy throughout the Bay Area, from South San Francisco to Mountain View. Her mobile sessions take place in the home or a community setting chosen by the client, with travel time built into the session fee so the full therapeutic hour remains uninterrupted.

Lauren draws from a range of evidence-based modalities — including Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — tailoring her approach to each person rather than applying a single framework. This flexibility is at the heart of how she works.
Lauren's community-based model is especially suited for families who face barriers to traditional office-based care, and for adolescents whose behavioral challenges require a more hands-on, wraparound approach. She is available Sunday through Thursday with evening hours to accommodate teens and working families.

Payment & Insurance
Lauren is fully out-of-network and does not bill insurance directly. She provides superbills for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Payment is accepted via Stripe or Zelle. Mobile therapy sessions outside of San Mateo are billed at $350 per 60-minute session, which includes travel time — the full session hour is dedicated to clinical work.
