Elaine Evans is a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist (EMDR Consultant-in-Training) who has spent her career helping high-achieving adults untangle the roots of anxiety, perfectionism, and chronic self-doubt. Her work sits at the intersection of evidence-based trauma treatment and compassionate, body-aware therapy — drawing from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and somatic/nervous system principles.
Elaine’s caseload centers on adults who present as “high-functioning” on the outside but carry the invisible weight of childhood trauma, relational wounds, and deeply ingrained survival strategies. She specializes in helping clients move beyond intellectual insight into genuine, felt-sense change — the kind that lasts.
“Many of the people I work with have already read the books and know their patterns — they just can’t seem to shake them. That’s where we begin.”
In addition to her own practice, Elaine leads Third Place Therapy, a Central Phoenix group practice with two associate therapists available for evening and weekend appointments. She is also a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and a trained yoga instructor, bringing a whole-person lens to the therapy relationship. Elaine sees clients in person at her Central Phoenix office and virtually throughout Arizona.
