Chelsea McConaha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in PTSD, OCD, and Anxiety Disorders for adults. She has developed particular expertise working with helping professionals and fellow therapists — supporting them in the often-overlooked work of building their own boundaries, solidifying a secure sense of identity, and learning to receive the kind of care they so readily extend to others.
Chelsea also has a gift for working with clients whose histories involve emotional neglect or emotional unavailability. She loves helping these clients reconnect with their creativity, reclaim a sense of self, and develop the self-trust that neglect can erode. Her therapeutic style pairs warmth with genuine accountability: she always assigns homework, asks the hard questions, and works consistently with clients to build stress tolerance rather than find ways around stressors.
"Your brain isn't broken, it's trying to protect you."
Chelsea integrates Somatic Therapies — including EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), EMDR, Mindfulness, and Grounding — when appropriate to each client's needs. This mind-body orientation reflects her belief that lasting change happens not just through insight, but through the body learning a new sense of safety. She is trained in EMDR, EFT, ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD), CBT, and DBT.
Chelsea provides telehealth services for clients in Arizona, North Carolina, and Kentucky through her practice, Spruce & Sparrow Counseling Services. She has immediate availability and offers a free 15-minute consultation to all prospective clients.
