Dr. Brooke Bellomio is a Licensed Psychologist based in Carlsbad, California, with nearly 15 years of specialized experience in eating disorders. Her doctoral training was conducted entirely within university counseling centers and eating disorder treatment facilities, and her dissertation focused on this population. Following licensure, she spent six years at Montecatini — a residential, PHP, and IOP eating disorder treatment facility in North County San Diego — and then another four years there as Clinical Supervisor and Assistant Clinical Director, where she also ran the internship program and trained master's-level practicum students.
She maintains active involvement with the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) local chapter, attends conferences and trainings on this topic annually, and is currently completing her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification.
"Eating disorders and OCD share deep roots in anxiety. Understanding that overlap is central to how I approach treatment — with precision, compassion, and evidence-based tools that actually work."
Dr. Bellomio's secondary specialty is OCD, where she is certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) through the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and is currently pursuing certification in Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT). She participates in ongoing consultation groups and trainings in this area, viewing eating disorders and OCD as meaningfully connected through their shared anxiety foundations.
Her integrative approach draws on CBT, DBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based work, and Lifespan Integration Therapy. She works with teens, college students, and adults throughout North County San Diego, offering in-person sessions at her Carlsbad office and virtual sessions for clients anywhere in California.
